Uncharted 3 is sooooo goooooood.
I don’t even know what happened. The entirety of last week blew me away and I still feel like I’m up to my neck in quicksand. Back to the story though:
Day 12: A song from a band you hate
I choose you Puddle of Creedleback! You used to be cool, then went to absolute shit once the world found out about you. And now I must hate you for it, and for embracing your own stereotype. That or redefining the stereotype. Either way, used to like them decently. Now I really can’t stand them… funny that.
Day 11: A song from your favorite band
My dad is actually a huge fan of this song as well. It is one of the more uplifting Black Keys songs and in his opinion is just made for cruising through a mountain canyon with the windows down. That is something I never would have thought of. It sort of reaffirms in my mind how our thought processes are shaped by the people and locations that you are exposed to growing up. So how do you readily expand upon this? Is there a way apart from exposing yourself to new environs? How long does it take? A vacation definitely isn’t enough, but is something like the four months I spent in Japan closer? How would you continue to change the longer you live there? TOO MANY QUESTIONS!
I forgot about this yesterday while watching the GSL Finals. So freaking good….
Day 09: A song that you can dance to – Anyone can dance to this.
Day 10: A song that makes you fall asleep – I could fall asleep to a lot of music, Jonsi is pretty good at it though…
Day 08: A song that you know all the words to
I know the words to very few songs, they just don’t all stick in my mind for some reason. I think this one is mostly there, but I’m not sure. My mind ties the words to the beats more than anything. I don’t think I can straight up recall all of the words to any song without hearing it or trying to sing it.
Day 07: A song that reminds you of a certain event
You have no idea how hard it is to find this song anywhere. This is a bit of a cheat, its an event, but something we did semi regularly; Close up the hardware store, go to Ampride for some cokes, and go down the back streets (with big dips) with this song blasting in his little red toyota.
Day 06: A song that reminds of you of somewhere
This was the song that I woke up to every day when I was living in Japan. A tiny dorm room with only a few friends that spoke english, some spoken quite badly. Its been six years and it still feels like yesterday…
Day 05: A song that reminds you of someone
Work is exhausting. Lately I have been working a decent amount of overtime, 45-50 hours or so. Not huge really, but the amount of focus needed leaves me drained… we shall see if things improve or crash and burn this week!
Day 04: A song that makes you sad
This will require some explanation I’m sure. The song is mildly haunting, melancholic, and quite good; but it is not exactly the saddest song in the world. The reason I chose it is for that extra connection that it has to a place, time, and person. A good friend of mine died around two years ago; a few months before we had discussed how much we both love Massive Attack. Shortly after that I found an early release of Heligoland that I was able to share with him. I’m glad I could, and while it might not have held any special significance to him, it still gives this song a lot more meaning to me.
I already missed a day! But at least I don’t suck as bad as this song:
Day 02: Your least favorite song: Travie McCoy – Billionaire
Its annoy to me for some reason from the lyrics to the basic song structure, for some reason I just cant stand it. I’ll leave it at that and move on.
Day 03: A song that makes you happy
- Silly Choice
- Really Awesome Choice
Flogging Molly is some of the most fun you can have at a live show. These guys rarely fail to improve my mood by a factor of 9.
